Nourished By The Word (365 Daily Proverbs for Men)

In my time with God, I have read some really cool things that of course, come from the pen of others. Here today, you will notice their writings by quotations[" "], and my perspective will be as wierd as usual. I begin with this very wise and eye-opening statement of truth... I AM FLAWED!! Oh, and so are you and everyone else that is breathing God's Air. Ponder that for a moment as you curl that finger back in from pointing out someone else's sin, errors, mistakes or boo-boos. Question. How ya living? How is your walk with Christ? Is He still next to you, or have you strayed off to the left or right? Is the path you are on crooked as a snake, or are you on the "street called straight?" This [my] daily read starts out with this scripture [1 Tim 4:6]. It then just sticks that sword right between your eyes with this.. "Do you read your Bible a lot...or not?" Hmm? Good question huh? Well, do ya? So often, I have found myself operating (living) off of last week's or month's manna. Have you been there? It continues with this, "The answer to this simple question will determine, to a surprising extent, the quality of your life and the direction of your faith." "As you establish priorities for life, you must decide whether God's Word will be a bright spotlight that guides your path everyday or a tiny nightlight that occasionally flickers in the dark. The decision to study the Bible--or not--is yours and yours alone. Make no mistake; how you choose to use your Bible will have a profound impact on you and your loved ones." Pretty cool huh? (Are you bleeding from your forehead?) I have had to get some gauze from time-to-time to plug the hole in my head. Hey! I am just keeping it real! Here is a quote by Andrew Murray I think is pretty cool. "Some read the Bible to learn, and some read the Bible to hear from heaven." Either way, you can't miss. If you were asking [my] opinion of which statement has the most impact, [I] would say, "to hear from heaven." We have enough self-proclaimed and man-ordained scholars in the world of Theology. Don't get me wrong, man help, but the Holy Spirit is He who teaches us what God's Word declares. Get to know Him too. Reading God's Word daily will get you on the inside track of where to get good nourishment. "Taste and see that the Lord is good." When you do, you will "find that it is sweeter than honey."
